You NEED Healing
We all need healing in one or more areas of our lives. After all we all are under attack. This dimension we dwell in is ruled by the prince of the power of the air. (Ephesians 2:2 “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”)
Who is that? Satan, Lucifer, Baal, the accuser of the brethren, the great deceiver, the devil, the enemy, the darkness or whatever other name you want to call him. Please note that while he may have authority over the air, he is not the one in absolute control. God is! And God has allowed this for now, for a short period.
While the devil does have this power for a short time, he is doing all he can to destroy, after all that is his very nature. (1-Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”)
Therefore he is attacking us physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally, financially and socially. These are the foundations of our life here in this dimension. And because these are all interconnected to each other he knows that if he can damage one area then he can affect the rest.
For example, if you are ailing physically, it will begin to take a toll on you mentally and emotionally. Or if he can erode your finances then it will affect you relationally and socially. Or if he can stir you up with negative emotions then your relationships and your mental state will take a hit.
What do we do then – what is our defense? We are to understand our enemy. (2-Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.) In other words our healing begins when we understand and confess that the enemy has been tampering with us and that we’ve allowed it, even if ignorantly or unknowingly.
For example if the faucet has been left running eventually the tub will overflow. While you may want to immediately grab a bucket or a mop to start cleaning up the mess in hopes that you will stop the resulting damage, the very first thing you must do is turn the faucet off to stop the flow of water. Otherwise even though you may temporary stop the overflow with a mop or bucket, eventually it will happen again if you let the faucet continue to run.
So if you want any area in your life to have sustaining lasting relief and restoration you must acknowledge where the damage is coming from, then secondly you must begin to recognize the remedy. That remedy is the word of God!
When God came to earth in the suit of flesh called Jesus, and while in that earthly state, the God man, Jesus, knew that the devil was a formidable opponent and not to be taken lightly. Jesus had gone into the desert to fast 40 days and draw close to God for strength and guidance about his earthly mission, as the days of fasting drew to a close the enemy struck. Yes he’s a good enemy, he knows when to attack which is at our lowest and weakest point. Even so, Jesus knew he couldn’t wrestle him to the ground, he couldn’t out run him and he couldn’t just ignore it. He addressed it head on with the only viable weapon he had, the word of God. You can read all about it in Matthew Chapter 4, but here is the heart of the issue that the Bible provides in Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
If we want to live, truly live - in fullness, which implies to be whole and completely free from injury or harm, then we must incorporate the word of God. We must consume it, absorb it into every area of our lives and let it become a part of us. The word of God must become our basis to find healing from the attacks we’ve suffered. It must be our remedy. (2-Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”)
The cool thing about the word of God is that as it begins to heal us, it also transforms us and makes us less susceptible to the attacks of the enemy. It becomes our defense as we learn to apply it to our lives.
Ephesians 6:10-17 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
I said we all need healing and I believe it to be true. We can take the information I’ve shared and understand that we need to address the source, and apply the remedy and so we think we’re doing a pretty good job, but the truth is none of us have a 360 degree view on every area of our lives.
Because as I said previously the enemy is good at being our enemy, he knows to attack the hard to see and reach places of our lives. Therefore, we need to be vigilant and get together with other believers and pray for one another so we can shore up these hidden places. There’s no better way to have each other’s back than in prayer for one another. By standing back to back the two warriors then have a 360 degree view. We need to allow others who are committed to God and his word to speak into our lives about the areas that are hurting, malnourished or lacking to ensure the rest of the foundation won’t come crumbling down as a result.
Yes we all need healing, we all need each other and most importantly we need the word of God!
God Bless!
